History - Police Marine Division

• Police duties performed in the territorial waters of Sri Lanka.

• Assist other institutions to perform Police duties.

• Duties concerned with security of coastal area in the Western & Southern sea in Sri Lanka and towards the East from Tangalle.

• There are five units established with trained men on sea patrol with high speed    crafts.

• The security coverage is from the shore inland to a distance of 01 nautical miles.
