For the post of a Police Constable Drivers, the applicant should be a citizen of Sri Lanka and posses the following qualifications. A Government Gazette Notification will be Published when vacancies occur and of any changes in the qualification and other physical requirements. |

Age Limit |
Applicants should be between 19 and 35 years, of age on the closing date of applications. |
|
|
The Applicant should be unmarried. However applicants within the age group of 30-35 years who are married will also be considered. |
|
|
|
02.
|
Educational Qualifications |
The candidates should have passed the 7 th standard in Sinhala / Tamil / English or higher examination in a school approved by the Department of Education. |
|
|
|
03. |
Technical Qualification |
(1) License to drive private/hiring cars and station wagon not exceeding 24 cwts. |
|
|
(11) Possess driving experience of at least 01year after having obtained the Certificate of Competence mentioned at (1) above. |
|
|
NOTE :- Preference will be given to applicants who have a knowledge of Motor Mechanism and to those who possess certificate of competence endorsed to drive all types of Motor Vehicles. |

Physical Height |
05 feet 2 ½ inches (minimum) /Chest 32 inches (deflated). |

Visual Requirement |
Vision should not be less than 6/12 with each eye. If Vision is 6/6 with one eye, vision of 6/18 with the other eye will be accepted. Colour vision should be normal. Any candidate who requires the use of glasses/spectacles or contact lenses will be disqualified. |

1. Applicant should be unmarried (Divorced persons are not eligible). This does not apply to Police Constable who are in the Sri Lanka Police Reserve. |
|
|
2. Preference will be given to those with sports and/or special aptitudes provided they are within the required age limit and posses the required basic educational and physical requirements stipulated above. |
|
|
3. Applicants must qualify in an endurance test and a written exam, or Trade test which will be held by the Police Department prior to their appearance before the final selection board. |
|
|
Selected candidates will be required to pass a medical examination prior to enlistment. Those who are found medically unfit for service in the Police will be rejected. |
