The National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB), Act was introduced in 1984 as Act No. 11 of 1984.  With this act the NDDCB was implemented in 1984 and it implements action based on policies and guide lines approved by the government in respect of drug law enforcement.

The PNB closely coordinate and liaise with NDDCB in its functions to fight against dangerous drugs.  The board also concentrates on voluntary treatment for drug users.
