Strategies

The PNB functions mainly in 02 areas such as the drug demand and supply. In order to curtail the drug demand, strategies are adopted in drug awareness campaigns to all levels of the society with the assistance of Government and Non Governmental organizations.
The drug supply is being controlled by drug law enforcement with Island wide Police stations, the Customs and the Excise Department.
The PNB closely coordinates with International agencies dealing in dangerous drugs and gathers information and also disseminates information concerning drug trafficking as and when the need arises.

The SAARC Drug Offences Monitoring Desk housed at the PNB also caters as a data bank for drug law enforcement, particularly in the SAARC Region.
