POLICE SPORTS DIVISION |

| 01. | Establishment |
The Police Sports Club / Police Sports Division (PSC) was established in December 1926. The vision is to create and active & better quality Police personnel through Sports |

| 02. | Organizational Structure |
The organization of the Police Sports Division consists of a Director, Deputy Director, an Inspector in charge and the strength of 84 Police Personnel of all ranks. IG Police is the President and the Director is the Hon. Secretary of the Police Sports Club.. |

| 03. | Services Delivered |
The role of the Director - Sports is to encourage & develop the capacity of Police Sportsmen and Women of the department. The Sports Club has recognized 22 Sport disciplines and tournaments on all of the events are annually conducted among the 44 Police Divisions. |

Police Players are selected from the Police Inter Divisional tournaments to take part in National Sports Tournaments. In addition to above, the young men and women, who have represented National Sports levels, in any of the Sports are given special preferences for recruitment even they are short of required educational qualifications. These players are given the normal Police training and will be made available only to play and represent the Police team in the particular sport. |

They are also provided with Nourishments & Subsistence allowances during the period of training and matches respectively. Ex-gratia payments are also granted for Police Players who represent a National team in International tournaments. The Players are also provided with Medical facilities for Injuries during Sports activities. Monitory rewards, Police Colors, Special Increments and Commendations of IG Police are also awarded for the Police teams that emerge as National Champions or Wins – One of the first three positions of international tournaments. |

| 04. | The ground complex |
A large, secure and strategically located ground complex is available at Police Park- Bambalapitiya which facilitates for Athletics, Rugby football, Soccer, Hockey, Netball, Volleyball, Basketball and Tennis. An underground Small Arms firing apartment is located for the training of Small Arms. Two Storied Grand Pavilions too made available to accommodate thousands of spectators, in addition to these facilities. The Police Gymnasium at the Police Grounds equipped with exercise machines of modern technology.

| 05. | The sports complex |
The sports complex at Narahenpita consist of a well equipped Swimming Pool, two courts for table tennis & Squash court, Gymnasium & Health Center comprising Sauna Bath, Jacuzzi, Steam Bath & lee Bath. The Police Sports Club is proud to have above facilities to cater to the requirements of the sport enthusiasts in the Police department. |
