Diuvulapitiya Police has apprehended 04 residents of Ja-Ela and Ekala areas in connection with committing many crimes including 02 burglaries and many gold chain-snatchings while riding high-speed motorbikes in Negombo, Diuvulapitiya and Gampaha areas.The value of the gold jewellery and 53 other items is nearly 20 lakhs and it has been revealed that one of the 03 motor bicycles had been stolen from Veyangoda.

The Barrack at VIP Training centre renovated at the cost of Rs. 5 Million funded by the Welfare society of Precedential Security Division, was declared opened by the Inspector General of Police on 09 th May, 2013.The Barrack was named as ‘Araliya’. In addition the Inspector General of Police gave a way the certificates for the winners who were attached to Precedential Security Division of the 78 th Annual Police Athletic Meet 2013.

The police have received complaints with regard to many incidents where people had been extorted after threatening over the phone under the guise of police officers stating that those callers have access to information regarding such people having been involved in the acts of LTTE and that they will be apprehended and prosecuted unless they deposit a specified amount of money to a given account number.
