The Police Sewa Wanitha Unit organized a prior registration programme for the donation of eyes with the collaboration of the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society where the event took place at the Police Headquarters on 14th of July 2012, with the guidance and instructions of Senior DIG Administration Mr. Gamini Navaratne. Head of the National Police Commission President’s Counsel Mr. Senaka Walgampaya was the first person to sign the consent papers under the programme where many police officers also contributed for this meritorious task by granting their consent for the donation of eyes.
