On 26th July 2012 Police CCTV Mobile vehicle during its routine operations stop a three-wheeler for violation of road rules at the Baseline road near Kelaniwali Railway crossing. Thereafter, Police observed suspicious behavior of the three- wheeler driver while issuing the spot fine which subsequently result conducted a thorough search of three-wheeler and the driver.

During the search police officers were able to recovered 2760 mg of the heroin and 14350 mg of Ganja illegal drugs in possession of the suspected driver. Police identified the suspect as a Muslim youth in Borella area.  Later, the Suspect was handed over to the Dematagoda Police station and further investigations are continued  by OIC/CCTV Chief inspector A.M.G.T.B.Seneverathna and OIC/ Dematagoda Chief Inspector Lalith Abeysekara with  the instructions of S/DIG (Administrations) Mr.Gamini Nawarathna, DIG. (W.P.  Traffic & CCTV Range) Mr. Amarasiri Senarathna and the Director/ CCTV -  ASP Mr. T.P.Gamalath.
