Establishment of the Sri Lanka Police Academy 

• The Sri Lanka Police Academy was established with effect from 01  December 2008.
• With the establishment of the Sri Lanka Police Academy, the Police  Higher Training  Institute and the In - Service Training Division were repealed and incorporated as Divisions  of the Sri Lanka Police Academy.
• By the establishment of the Sri Lanka Police Academy, it is envisaged to develop  the professional advancement of Police Officers.
