The newly established IT technical Lab affiliated to the Information Technology Division, for the North Central Province ,situated at the DIG Office premises in Anuradhapura , was declared open by the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Administration Mr. B.K.Gamini Nawarathne at the inauguration ceremony held on 01st of October 2011, at 10.45 hrs. This is among the major steps recently taken by the Police Department in its procedural approach to expand the IT Service for Island wide Police Stations. The newly established unit comprises of 4 personnel including the Officer in Charge, who possess technical skills that would be resulted in providing IT Service for the North & North Central Provinces. Also Measures have been taken to establish another lab for Badulla Division (Uva & Eastern provinces) and subsequently expand the service throughout the island.
