The conclusion ceremony of the 77th Police Inter Division Athletic meet was held on 30th of March 2012 at the Police Grounds Bambalapitiya. Hon. Speaker of the Parliament Mr. Chamal Rajapaksha graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Additional Secretary of Police Affairs / Minister of Defence Mrs. Damayanthi Jayarathne participated as the Guest of Honor where they were warmly welcomed by the IG Police and other higher ranking officers. The Inspector General of Police Mr. N.K. Illangakoon made the welcome speech. The Police Band and Cultural Troupe added color to the event by their fascinating performances. Addressing the event Mr. Rajapaksha mentioned that during the past war times Police personnel had to render their service for military activities in addition to their routine Police works that resulted in diminishing the chances of developing their inborn skills. Furthermore he added that now the opportunity is there to unearth and develop their talents. Presidential Security Division emerged champions by scoring 396 points where Special Task Force became runners up with a score of 278 Points. The Speaker declared the closing of the ceremony. The event was decorated with fireworks illuminating the night skies providing a blissful view.
