Mohomad Saleem of the Sri Lanka Police won the recently held "Giritharanaya" cycle tour with a distance of 180 Kilometers. The race started form the Kohuwala Junction and came to an end at the Nuwaraeliya horse race course. There were 36 contesters who took part in the event including players representing the Tri Forces. It was indeed a challenge for them as the route comprised of mountains and slopes, where eventually saleem managed to gain the victory with a time of 05 hours and 30 minutes. Saleem is a reputed figure for gaining victories in similar events previously.
