Rev.Fr.E.J. Herbert memorial inter club basketball tournament was held in St Michaels indoor court on 27, 28, 29 April where many teams from all over the island competed in the event. The event was carried out under A & B categories where Police SC qualified for the finals beating Carlton SC 72-62 while Colombo BC defeating Otters SC 66-54. The opponents clashed in the finals with a tremendous energy by focusing the sight of the spectators where finally police became runners up with a score of 64-79. Sujeewa Sampath of the Police SC emerged as the most outstanding player of the tournament.
