On 15.04.2012 The Special Task Force (STF) in the Buttala camp continues to raid 1 3/4  acre of ganja (Cannabis) plantation in Thanamalvila area at Balaharuwa Kemhatha area to destroys such  plantation.

The 77th Police Inter Division Athletic Meet was declared opened by the Inspector General of Police Mr. N.K. Illangakoon on 28th March 2012 at Police Grounds Bambalapitiya. The event kicked off with the Men’s and Women’s open Marathon with a distance of 7 and 5 km’s respectively. The Traditional lightning of Olympic lamp was carried out by   the Police Men’s and women’s Athletics captains, 

On 22nd March 2012 on an information provided by the Special Branch Operatives of Mankulam Unit, Police had recovered the following items which had been hidden by the LTTE in Sugandhirampuram area in Pudukuduirippu Police area.
