At 1455 hrs on 22nd August 2014,03 youths who were bathing in the Sangamiththa coastal strip after going on a trip to Trincomalee from Kalubowila, Dehiwala, were carried away by an ocean current.

Awarding Commendations for the bravery of PC 38993 S. M. A. Pathmakumara PDF Print E-mail

A function for awarding IG Commendations and a financial reward of Rs. 100,000 for PC 38993, S. M. A. Pathmakumara was held at IG Conference Hall at Police Headquarters on 1.8.2014 under the leadership of Inspector General of Police, Mr. N. K. Illangakoon. This function was held in recognition of the brave service rendered by Police Constable Pathmakumara attached to Dedigama Police Station, who sustained injuries due to an acid attack while he was attempting to apprehend a person wanted for a number of burglaries and thefts in Dedigama, Warakapola, Pindeniya and Galewela Police areas.

 
STF wins the police interdivisional rugby Championship 2014 PDF Print E-mail

The final match for the Trophy of the police interdivisional rugby Championship 2014, which constituted 10 players for each side was held at 1600hrs. of 23rd July,2014 at Uyanwatte Grounds – Matara. Final match was held between Special Task Force and Prime Ministers Security Division. Special Task Force won the championship to a score of 12-0 defeating Prime Ministers Security Division.

Opening ceremony of the Nilawali new Police Station was held on 28th July, 2014 at 09.30am at Trincomalee new Police Station grounds with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Susantha Punchinilame, Deputy Minister of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs, Mr. S.A.D.S. Gunawardhana and Inspector General of Police, Mr. N.K. Illangakoon.
