Police Dept. goes 5 S PDF Print E-mail

Police Department is planning to go ahead with productivity improvement plans to enhance the efficiency of services provided for the public.

Among the plans are naming of the units within a police station at the entrance and a map which directs the public to find the unit easily. They have also instructed senior police officers in charge of the area and the police division to strictly adhere to the 5S concept. Another improvement the Department is making is the allocating of parking slots for public and police vehicles within the premises of any police station.

The 26th Siyapathwila Programme

The 26th Siyapathwila programme has been inaugurated by the auspices of Hon. Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksha, the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development on 25th January, 2013 at Youth Center, Maharagama. The Inspector General of Police Hon. Mr. N.K.Illangakoon, the Assistant Secretaries to the Ministry of Defence Mr. S. Hettiarachchi and Mrs. Indu Rathnayaka, Senior Assistant Secretary Mr. Sachin Disanayaka, Former Deputy Inspector General of Police Mr. K.P. Pathirana and Attorney Mr. Lalith Pium Perera, Chairman Director General of National Youth Services Council were participated to this event. At this ceremony, Hon. Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksha, the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development stated that there are many examples for collapse of law and order in some countries after civil wars as the power has captured by certain groups that were politically disoriented.

The police seva Vanitha unit and Austrian vienna Ranaviru Memorial Committee have lounched a project to build a house for the family of police sergeant 20601 Jayawardena who died in the explotion  of Karadianaru police post on sept.17,2010 .The function was held in  Walbothalegama Ranaviru Village at Merigama on 24 th of January 2013.
