Police Special Task Force apprehends the largest quantity of heroin that has been seized in recent times.

A married couple has been taken into custody for the possession of 53 kilo grams and 65 grams of heroin, during a raid conducted in the Kiriwewa area of the Sewanagala Police Area by the Police Special Task Force and handed them over to the Police Narcotics Bureau.
During the inspection of the premises, this quantity of heroin was found carefully hidden in three plastic containers buried in the yard.
While carrying out further investigations, it was also revealed that the suspect arrested is the sister of Omalpage Dhammika Samankumara, the person who was arrested in possession of heroin in the Piliyandala area on 30.10.2024 by the officers of the Special Task Force.
