A modern firearm without an owner

Based on a piece of information uncovered, the officers of the Police Special Task Force Intelligence Division inspected the premises of the Officer of the Medical Officer of Health in Meethotamulla, Wellampitiya on 08.12.2024.
A high-tech pistol manufactured in a foreign country and two magazines used for the said pistol were found hidden under a container placed behind the office, and the weapon was subsequently handed over to the Wellampitiya Police Station for further investigation.

The Wellampitiya Police Station is conducting further investigations on the suspicion that this modern firearm may have been hidden without safety with the motive of committing homicide in the near future.
