The individual arrested for possession of drugsis a suspect in 4 unsolved crimes

A large number of valuables were stolen from 04 houses of the Mirihana and Kohuwala Police Divisions during the months of February, November, and December of this year.

While the relevant police stations and the Criminal Investigation Division were conducting investigations to find the perpetrator, a team of officers from the Divisional Criminal Investigation Division Nugegoda arrested a person who was suspiciously staying near the Mee tree in Pragathipura, Kohuwala on 09.12.2024 along with 2200 milligrams of the narcotic, ice in his possession and he was further interrogated.

Then it was revealed that he was the suspect wanted for the above 04 thefts and the suspect has revealed information about a television worth about Rs. 60,000, a Platinum motorcycle, property worth about Rs. 71,000, and property worth about Rs. 46,000. Based on the said piece of information, the investigating officers have found the television and the grinder and have taken them into police custody. 

The suspect is a 34-year-old resident of the Kotte area.
