A cannabis cultivation in 5 acres uncovered in a two-day operation was set on fire

During a two-day search operation carried out in Zone 04 of the Yala Reserve, officers of the Gonagan Ara Police Station uncovered 04 cannabis cultivations covering an area of 5¼ acres on 07.01.2025 and were able to destroy about 500,000 cannabis plants, well-grown up to a height of around 4 feet.

By the time the raid was conducted, no one had been there but a locally-manufactured firearm, which had been left, has been seized by the police.
