Two More Suspects Arrested In Relation To Wattegama Fish Businessman Murder Incident

The officers of Wattegama Police Station arrested two more suspects on 08.01.2025 in relation to the crime in which a fish businessman was killed that was reported from Atalahagoda area on 04.01.2025.  

The suspects who committed the murder, a 25-year-old resident of Karandeniya area and a 37-year-old resident of Khuhettimulla area, were arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit murder and criminal intimidation.

A 39-year-old fish businessman residing in Atalahagoda, Wattegama area, who was seriously injured in an attack by several people with a sharp weapon, died on 01.04.2025 at around 03.25 in the morning at the Kandy intensive care unit and

Officers of Wattegama Police Station arrested a 38-year-old suspect in Wattegama area on 05.01.2025 on charges of murder and conspiracy and further investigations are being carried out in this regard. 

Investigations are underway to arrest other suspects as well.
