The ceremony in recognition of the Police Officers, who demonstrated exceptional prowess in solving crimes and made commendable contributions to Police duty while discharging duty in Nugegoda and Mount Lavinia Police Divisions, was held on 01-04-2025 at the Water Supply and Drainage Board Auditorium, Mount Lavinia under the leadership of the Senior D.I.G. in charge of Western Province, Mr. Sanjeewa Dharmaratne.
185 officers from 28 Police stations in those divisions have been selected to offer rewards, and 40 Police officers out of them symbolically received their awards during the ceremony.
Measures have been taken to reserve a total amount of Rs. 26.5 million to 185 prize winners. Rs. 17.5 million was allocated to the officers of the Nugegoda Police Division and Rs. 9 million was allocated to the officers of the Mount Lavinia Police Division.
Senior Police officers including the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Western and Southern Range – Mr. G. Marapana, the Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of the Nugegoda Division – Mr. Mangala Dehideniya, and the Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of Mount Lavinia, Mr. Brahmana have participated in this event.
