A suspect has been arrested for obtaining pornographic images of boys through social media and producing pornographic images of a local boy. The US government’s National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) has provided information to the Sri Lanka Police’s Child and Women Abuse Prevention Bureau in this regard.
Accordingly, on 20.04.2025, a team of officers from the Children and Women’s Bureau conducted investigations and arrested the suspect in the Anamaduwa area.
He is a 34-year-old resident of Anamaduwa, Aandigama, who runs a mobile phone repair shop.
It has been revealed that this suspect has been collecting and viewing pornographic videos and photos of foreign children engaging in sexual activities online since 2022, and has also worked to produce nude videos and related photos of a 13-year-old Sri Lankan child.
The Child and Women Abuse Prevention and Investigation Bureau is continuing its investigations into the suspect.
