Police Special Task Force arrests a person in possession of illegal pesticides and a person with 391 liters of Goda.

Officers attached to the Police Special Task Force Gampola camp arrested a man, who was in possession of 67 packets of fungicides and 20 bottles of liquid pesticides that were banned for sale in Sri Lanka, near Gampola town and handed him over to the Gampola Agriculture Inspector’s Office for further investigation.

The arrest was made on the afternoon of 23.06.2025 and the suspect was traced based on a piece of information discovered. He is a 31-year-old resident of the said area.

Similarly, officers of the Police Special Task Force Dambulla camp carried out a raid in the Watagala area of the Galkiriyagama Police Area in the same evening and arrested a suspect with 391 liters and 750 milliliters of Goda, and 02 iron barrels used to distil illicit liquor and presented him to the Galkiriyagama Police Station.

The 26-years-old suspect is a resident of the Pallekele area.
