A person was arrested with 1 kilogram of hashish based on an intelligence tip-off.

Based on a tip-off from a police intelligence officer, officers from the Mahabage Police Station searched a house in the Elehiwatte area of the division and found 1 kilogram of hashish weighing 100 grams each.

A 33-year-old man who was staying as a temporary resident of the house has been arrested and Rs. 304,400 /=, which is suspected to have been earned from drug trafficking, has been taken into police custody.

The Mahabage Police Station has initiated further investigations into the suspect, who has been identified as a resident of the Ragama area in Welisara, and the house.
