A person, who had been absconding having defrauded Rs. 50 million, has been arrested

Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau of Colombo Central has arrested a 37-year-old person, who is, a resident of Dehiwala, in the evening of 24 – 06 -2025, at the Kirulapone Police Division, for the offence of absconding, having defrauding over Rs. 50 million. 

It has been revealed through the complaints made to the Police Station – Slave Island that the said suspect had defrauded around 150 people promising to provide them with foreign employment opportunities. He was arrested as a result of continuous search and pursuit for a period of 06 months.ෙ

He is detained currently at Police Station – Slave Island for further investigations.
