Objective of introducing Public Complain Desk

The Bureau for the Prevention of Abuse of Children and Women investigates and prevents crimes against children and women and any type of violence, sexual violence, domestic violence, child insecurity, child labour, cruelty to children, etc. against them.

The Public Complain Desk has been established at the Bureau for the Prevention of Abuse of Children and Women to easily lodge a complaint directly by anyone through the email address cwb.online@police.gov.lk and hotline number 109, Telephone 0112 444 444, in the event of,


  • Not accepting complaints or refraining from conducting proper investigation,
  • Not conducting proper investigation against cybercrimes by the respective police stations.


Furthermore,

  • Adolescents who are reluctant to go to the police stations directly to lodge a complaint against the crimes committed by their lawful guardians and any other due to other reasons will have the opportunity to submit complaints through this e-mail address and hotline numbers without harmly their privacy.


In relation to such complaints, the Public Complain Desk, functioning 24 hours a day, under the supervision of The Director Bureau for the Prevention of Abuse of Children and Women takes necessary actions promptly with the coordination of relevant police stations and other institutions.
