Ru Siri – The modern beauty salon at the Field Force Headquarters

The Salon at the Field Force Headquarters, which has been expanded and refurbished as a modern beauty salon under the leadership of the Police Seva Vanitha Unit, was declared open today, 15.07.2025, under the patronage of the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Priyantha Weerasuriya (Attorney-at-Law)

The salon, which was catered only to Police officers to get their hair cut at a reasonable fee, will now open daily for all beauty treatments at a fair rate for women police officers, members of police families and anyone who visits it.

The necessary steps will be taken to expand and develop the Saloon under the guidance and supervision of the Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Unit, and the beloved wife of the Acting I.G.P., Mrs. Nilmini Samaratunga, a member of the association, and the beloved wife of Mr. M.D.R.S. Daminda, D.I.G.  – Support Services, Mrs. Sandeepa Sewmini, and the Commanding Officer of the Police Field Force Headquarters, W. S. S. P. Mrs. Darshika Kumari and Senior Police Officers. 

It is also remarkable that the opportunity has been given to the skilled persons of the family members of police officers to serve in the salon. Subsequently, the Acting I. G. P. aims to economically strengthen families of police officers by such granting opportunities.

The equipment for this beauty salon was donated by Rev. Fr. Kalyanapriya of Believers Eastern Church, and other improvements have been done with financial donations from the Police Seva Vanitha Unit.
