Two suspects arrested with three pistols

During a raid conducted by the Southern Province Special Operations Unit of the Police Special Task Force on 03.08.2025 in the Dewalapola area of the Minuwangoda Police Area, a suspect, along with a revolver manufactured in a foreign country and a motor bicycle suspected to be used for committing crimes, was arrested.

The suspect, a 55-year-old resident of the Meegaspitiya area, has been produced to the Minuwangoda Police Station for carrying out further investigations.

Similarly, a 41-year-old suspect who was in possession of two pistols manufactured in a foreign country was arrested and handed over to Ratnapura Police Station during a raid conducted on the same day in the Durekkanda area of the Ratnapura Police Area by a group of officers from Special Operations 1 of the Police Special Task Force Headquarters.
