Opening of Uva Provincial Crime Division

Uva Provincial Crime Division, established at the location of Old Police Station, Mahiyanganaya Road, Badulla was declared open by the Acting Inspector General of Police, Attorney-at-Law, Priyantha Weerasooriya, on the evening of 09.08.2025.

This unit was opened to investigate crimes specifically related to the Uva Province and this Division functions under the direct supervision of the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police of the Uva Province.

Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police of the Uva Province, Mahesh Senarathna, Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Badulla Range, Laksiri Wijesena, Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Monaragala Range, Nihal Thalduwa, officers in charge of the Badulla, Bandarawela and Monaragala Divisions, and many high-ranking police officers participated in this event.
