Newly appointed IGP, Attorney-at-Law Mr Priyantha Weerasooriya met with officers at the STF Headquarters

IGP, Attorney-at-Law Priyantha Weerasooriya visited the STF Headquarters this morning, 22.08.2025, and met with the officers on duty at the Headquarters, including the Commanding Officer of the STF, Deputy Inspector General of Police, D.G. Samantha de Silva.

This is the first time that the IGP has paid an official visit to the STF Headquarters after assuming the duties  as the IGP.

The IGP stated that the capabilities and strengths of the STF, which are making a special contribution to the maintenance of law and order, in particular the task of combating organized crime in the island, are a matter of great pride for the country and the Sri Lanka Police.
