Welfare shop opens at renovated Kankesanthurai Police Station

For officers who are constantly interacting with the public and are busy with their duties at the police station, it is difficult to go out to obtain food or other necessary items.

To avoid such inconvenience and for the convenience of the public who come to police stations to obtain services, police stations maintain a welfare shop/cafeteria outside the police stations.

Under the leadership of Senior DIG in charge of the Northern Province, Mr. Tilak C.A. Dhanapala, efforts were made to beautifully renovate the welfare store at the Kankesanthurai Police Station in the past and its opening was held ceremoniously on 25.09.2025 with his participation.

When you come to the Police Station, we invite you to visit the Kankesanthuraya Police Station as this shop will provide goods and food at reasonable and affordable prices. 

The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Jaffna District, Mr. G.H. Marapana, the Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of the Kankesanthurai Police Division, Mr. G.M.R. Ambepitiya, the Assistant Superintendent of Police in charge of the Kankesanthurai District 01, Mr. G.H.G. Gayan Prasanna, and officers of the Kankesanthurai Police Station.
