The Police Mess in Point Pedro, where both Sinhala and Tamil police officers on duty in the Jaffna Peninsula gather to spend their leisure time in a comfortable and enjoyable manner, was completely renovated with air conditioning and other modern amenities under the guidance of the senior deputy inspector general of police in charge of the Northern Province, Mr. Thilak C. A. Dhanapala.
The opening ceremony of the mess, which was completely renovated within a short period of time, was held on 24.09.2025 under the patronage of Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Mr. Thilak C.A. Dhanapala, giving priority to the traditional rituals.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Jaffna Range, G. H. Marapana; Senior Superintendent of Police-Divisional Officer in Charge of Kankesanthurai, P. M. R. Ambepitiya; the Assistant Superintendent of Police 1 in charge of the district, G. H. P. Gayan Prasanna; the Assistant Superintendent of Police III in charge of the district, G. W. S. C. Jayathilaka; and the Chief Inspector of Police of Headquarters Police Station, Point Pedro, Priyantha Amarasinghe, also participated in this event.
