Matale Police Station donates prosthetic legs to disabled people

Divisional Community Policing Coordination Unit of Matale looked into the case of 11 people in the area who had lost their legs below the knee. Measures have been taken to donate prosthetic legs those people with disabilities.

Concurrent with the 159th Police Day, this charity event was organized under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of Matale Division, Mr M. S. K. Wickramanayake. The event was held on 24 – 09 – 2025 at the auditorium of Matale Police Station. Assistant Superintendent of Police in charge of Matale District II, Mr  P. M. C. R. Tennakoon, OIC of Divisional Community Policing Coordination Unit of Matale, I. P Mr Hemantha Wijebandara and other officers of the unit participated in the event.

‘For Handicap Foundation’ of Kandy extends their generous support by donating a sum of Rs. 600,000. The Chief Executive Officer, Mr. S. S. Attanayake and Chief Technology Officer Sisira Kumara have graced the occasion.
