Police Special Task Force seizes 164 grams of drugs in three raids

Southern Province Special Operations Unit of Police Special Task Force arrested a person for keeping possession of 60 grams and 150 milligrams of Heroin in Pattihena of  Gandara Police Area on 02. 11. 2025. He was handed him over to Kotwila Police Narcotics Bureau.

Facts have been revealed that this quantity of drugs was obtained from drug consignment brought by sea.

The suspect is a 29-year-old resident of the same area.

Officers of Special Operations Division III of Police Special Task Force conducted a raid near Peiris Mawatha, Werahera, Boralesgamuwa on the same day, and arrested a person for keeping possession of 51 grams of 360 milligrams of ice dug. A sum of Rs. 445,000/- suspected to have been earned through drug trafficking has also found in the custody of the suspect. The suspect was handed over to Boralesgamuwa Police Station for further investigation.

It has been revealed that this 33-year-old suspect is one of the key henchmen of a large-scale drug trafficker who is in custody.

A suspect for keeping possession of 52 grams and 780 milligrams of ice drug in Jimpanawattha, Divulapitiya has been arrested during a raid conducted by the officers of Police Special Task Force Minuwangoda camp. The suspect was handed over to Divulapitiya Police Station for further investigation.

It has been revealed that the 34-year-old suspect is a deserter of Sri Lanka Army. Police officers have found several pieces of military uniform in the possession of the suspect. Those items have been taken into police custody.
