A medical camp and dry food distribution program were organized by the Police Medical Services Division at the Sedawatte Weheragoda Ancient Rajamaha Viharaya to support the flood-affected residents of the Sedawatte area.
The medical camp was conducted today at the Suraksha Camp established at the Sedawatte Purana Rajamaha Viharaya, where displaced individuals are currently being sheltered. The event was graced by the Inspector General of Police, Attorney-at-Law Priyantha Weerasuriya. A team of five doctors, along with nursing staff from the Police Hospital, provided medical services during the program. Nearly 200 affected individuals received medical check-ups, essential medications, and health guidance.
In parallel with the medical services, a dry food distribution initiative was also carried out for the residents of the Suraksha Camp. Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province, Mr. Sajeewa Medawatte; Senior DIG Administration and Services, Mr. Rajitha Sri Daminda; DIG in charge of the Colombo District, Mr. Nishantha de Zoysa; Director of the Police Medical Services Division, W. Senior Superintendent of Police Mrs. Madara Ariyaratne; and several other senior officers participated in the event.
