The Police are conducting investigations to locate a 15-year-old girl who absconded from a children’s home in Chilaw on 17.07.2025.

She had previously escaped from the Meegahakotuwa Government Detention Home, where she was under detention, and was later taken into custody by the Chilaw Police on 14.07.2025. Subsequently, she was produced before the Magistrate’s Court and placed in the children’s home, from where she later escaped.
