STF Combat Challenge held to mark the 43rd Special Task Force Day

The STF Combat Challenge sports tournament, organized by the Police Special Task Force under the theme “Niyathai Jaya”, was conducted in line with the 43rd Special Task Force Day celebrations. The tournament was held over several days, with the grand final taking place on 01.03.2026 at the Special Task Force Training School, Katukurunda.

Organized to commemorate the 43-year proud journey of the Police Special Task Force, the event featured a variety of vibrant performances by STF officers, including bodybuilding competitions and Taekwondo demonstrations, showcasing their strength, discipline, and professional excellence. Awards and recognitions were presented to officers and teams who displayed outstanding performance and exceptional skills throughout the competition.

The ceremony was graced by the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Ravi Seneviratne, the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Priyantha Weerasooriya, along with several senior officers. Their presence added prestige to the occasion while acknowledging the dedication, courage, and talent of the STF officers who continue to serve the nation with distinction.
