A special community service and welfare initiative was conducted in Mihintale under the patronage of the Inspector General of Police (IGP)

The newly constructed cafeteria and dining facility, established to enhance the welfare services provided to officers of the Mihintale Police Station, was ceremonially declared open on 17.03.2026 under the auspices of the IGP, Attorney-at-Law Priyantha Weerasuriya, and the Chairperson of the Police Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Neeta Samaratunga.

In parallel with this occasion, the IGP also distributed essential provisions, including dry rations, to 25 underprivileged families residing in the Mihintale area.

The event was attended by the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the North Central Province, T.C.A. Dhanapala; the Anuradhapura Divisional Senior Superintendent of Police, Thilina Hewapathirana; along with several other senior police officials and local residents.
