Police Lifeguard Unit officers save a life

On the afternoon of 18.04.2026, police lifeguards on duty near Tissa Wewa in Anuradhapura successfully rescued a 27-year-old man who had encountered difficulty while bathing in the lake.

The individual, a resident of the Bandarawela area, had entered an unsafe section of the water.

The lifeguards promptly administered first aid and arranged for his admission to the Anuradhapura Hospital for further treatment.
