Suspect arrested with 2.4 kg of ‘ice’ and other narcotics

Acting on information obtained from a suspect currently in custody and under investigation by the Western Province North Crime Division, officers conducted an operation on the morning of 19.04.2026 within the Kottawa and Homagama Police Divisions. During this operation, a suspect was apprehended in possession of 2kg and 400mg of crystal methamphetamine (“ice”), 112g of heroin, 8g of cocaine, and a motor vehicle.

Further investigations led to the arrest of another individual who had allegedly aided and abetted the main suspect. The two suspects, aged 31 and 42, are residents of the Pannipitiya and Homagama areas.

The Western Province North Crime Division is continuing further investigations into the suspects.
