A special two-day scholarship workshop organized by the Sri Lanka Police Library Association, with the objective of supporting the academic development of students preparing for the 2026 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination and enhancing their knowledge, was successfully held on 9 and 10 July 2026 at the Mahaweli Authority’s Shalika Hall in Dehiattakandiya.
The program was conducted under the direction of the President of the Sri Lanka Police Library Association, Hon. Inspector General of Police Attorney-at-Law Mr. Priyantha Weerasooriya, and under the supervision of the Association’s Chairman, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. A.P.U. Chandana Herath.
More than 1,150 students representing 42 schools in the Dehiattakandiya Educational Zone of the Ampara Education District participated in the workshop. The keynote lecture was delivered by renowned educationist Mr. Amila Prasad Jayasekara, presenter of the nationally acclaimed television program Nena Mihira.
During the workshop, students received comprehensive guidance on effective examination techniques, strategic time management, and the correct approach to answering scholarship examination question papers. The sessions were designed to strengthen students’ confidence and equip them with the practical skills required to perform successfully in the examination.
