Nearly 100 Kg of Narcotics Seized by Police Narcotics Bureau Destroyed

A total of 99 kg and 478 g of heroin seized by the Police Narcotics Bureau and processed through the Marawila Magistrate’s Court, along with narcotics-related exhibits from 208 cases heard before courts in various areas and held under the custody of the Government Analyst’s Department, were transported to the incinerator located in the Lactowatte area of Wanathavilluwa, Puttalam, this morning (25 July 2026) for destruction.

The destruction process is being carried out under the supervision of relevant government officials and with stringent security arrangements provided by the Police Special Task Force.
