Ranepura Devage Ranuka Eranda Wijethunga

The Negombo High Court has sentenced a man to death for assaulting and murdering a woman residing in the Walpola area of the Ragama Police Division in 2019.

The accused failed to appear before the court during the relevant trial proceedings. Accordingly, the case was proceeded with and the death sentence was imposed in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code. Following the court’s decision, the Ragama Police Station has launched an extensive investigation to locate and arrest the convicted person.
