Centenary of the Police Savings Association

The Police Savings Association, which was formed 100 years ago to provide economic relief to the police officers, was established with the objective of improving the financial stability of police officers by saving money until their retirement. In the year 1924, the Superintendent of Police at the time, Mr. J. D. Aitkin, has formed the Police Savings Association to ensure legality in terms of financial matters.

The Police Savings Association has been able to solve all the financial problems of police officers throughout the journey upon the celebration of its centenary. This anniversary celebration was held today, 12.12.2024, at the auditorium of the Police Savings Association with the participation of the Hon. Inspector General of Police – Mr. Priyantha Weerasooriya and a number of senior officials with the blessings of all religious leaders.

During this event, an appraisal of the staff of the Sri Lanka Police Savings Association and awarding of appointment letters were also held.
