Director and Media Spokesperson of the Police Media Division, Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr. Buddhika Manatunga, assumes duties at the Police Media Division.

Having appointed as the Director and Media Spokesperson of the Police Media Division on 2024.12.02, Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr. Buddhika Manatunga, (LLB) officially assumed duties in his post at the Police Media Division, located at 14th Floor, Suhurupaya, Battaramulla on the morning of 16th December 2024. 

Being an alumnus of Ananda College, Colombo, he is a Bachelor of Science degree holder from the University of Peradeniya, a Postgraduate in Science, and a Bachelor of Law degree holder from the Open University. He joined the Sri Lanka Police service as an Assistant Superintendent of Police on 01.01.2014 and was promoted to the post of Superintendent of Police on 01.01.2020, and to the post of Senior Superintendent of Police on 01.01.2024.

He has followed many training courses relevant to police service locally as well as in foreign countries such as, Russia, Thailand, the Philippines and Cambodia. After serving in the Kandy and Trincomalee Divisions, he has served as the Director of the Human Rights Division, the Acting Director of the Police Media Division and Public Relations Division, the Deputy Director of the Legal Division, the Director of the Children and Women’s Bureau and the Officer in Charge of the Kantale Division.
