Let’s build a city free from accidents.
A program to prevent and minimize road accidents, under the theme of ‘A Disciplined City,’ organized on a concept of the Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of Galle Division with the collaboration of the officers in Community Policing Committees established in all the Police Stations of Galle Division, was held today, 01.11. 2024 on the road near Galle Fort.The students representing 7 schools participated in this program organized by the Sri Lanka Police under the sponsorship of FAIRFIRST, and the program is scheduled to be held for 10 days from today onwards for the school children in the areas that were identified as accident-prone areas in Galle.The keynote speaker, Sub Inspector of Police, Mr. Dayal Kariyawasam, and the demonstration team of Traffic Headquarters made the students aware through performing dramas and other various activities on how road accidents occur and how to protect themselves from road accidents.Further, this program is aimed at advising the students on how to carry out school traffic control activities, to prevent road accidents, which are increasing day by day, and to lead their lives while being cautious and mindful.
