IPA Sri Lanka supports during the Covid-19 Pandemic: by donating Gloves to Sri Lankan Police Force

During period of lockdown in view of the spread of the Covid 19 Pandemic, Sri Lanka Police Force was actively engaged in supporting the Health Sectors and other Authorities with a view to preventing the spread of Covid 19 Pandemic.

The contribution of Sri Lanka Police with the other concerned authorities and timely action initiated and monitored by His Excellency President of the Sri Lanka, the spread of the Pandemic was well prevented as well kept under control. This timely action made it possible to control the situation and save lives of Sri Lankan peasants, limiting the death toll to 11 and affected numbers to 2042.

The Sri Lanka Police actively participated and supported the sanitarian work to reduce and minimize the spread of Pandemic through public awareness programme, enforcement mechanism, ensuring public order and sterilization programs country wide. To this end in supporting their services and protecting their own lives from this epidemic condition, IPA donated 50,000 protective Gloves to the value of  Rs. 2.2 million for use by them in such duties for their own protection whilst in the discharge of these duties.

This donation was received by the Mr. C.D. Wickramaratne, Actg. Inspector General of Police on 20.04.2020 at the Police Headquarters, Colombo 01 attended by the NSG and the ANSG and IPA working Staff.
