The Bureau for the Prevention of Abuse of Children and Women, Nanu Oya has been formally established in a separate section within the Police Station, Nanu Oya. The Bureau was declared open by Mr. P. N. Ekanayaka, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Nuwara Eliya Division, on 20.11.2024, followed by a brief ceremony. The objective of setting up the Bureau in a new place is to create a suitable environment for the children and women in the area to lodge complaints regarding the crimes they experience or problems they encounter, whilst preserving their privacy.Actions are being taken to establish Children and Women Bureaus, to extend a service in such a formal and friendly manner, in every police station as per the instructions and orders of the acting Inspector General of Police, (Attorney at Law), Mr. Priyantha Weerasooriya, and that will provide opportunity for children as well as women to get justice served more conveniently. When the entire world is celebrating International Children’s Day and Elders’ Day today, 01.10.2024, on the theme of “Extend Hands of Compassion—Let’s Protect Elders and the Children”, a series of speeches and performances organized by the Bureau for the Prevention of Abuse of Children and Women in association with the Ministry of Education under the Children’s Day theme of “Protect and treat every child equally” were held at the Nagananda Buddhist University premises in Manelwatta this morning (01.10.2024).Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, the Prime Minister- Minister of Education, grace the event as the chief guest.About 1000 students from 10 schools of Kelaniya Education Division participated in this program, and apart from insightful speeches, the Police Cultural Division, Police Band Division, and Police Kennel Division joined the program by letting the students enjoy their performances. Along with the Prime Minister, senior officers, including Mrs. Thilaka Jayasundara, Secretary, Ministry of Education; Deputy Inspector General of Police Mr. Kapila Kadupitiya, in charge of Western Province (North) Division; Deputy Inspector General of Police Mrs. Renuka Jayasundara, in charge of the range for the prevention of abuse of children and women; and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Lalith Abeysekara, Director, Children and Women Bureau, also participated in this occasion. A program to prevent and minimize road accidents, under the theme of ‘A Disciplined City,’ organized on a concept of the Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of Galle Division with the collaboration of the officers in Community Policing Committees established in all the Police Stations of Galle Division, was held today, 01.11. 2024 on the road near Galle Fort.The students representing 7 schools participated in this program organized by the Sri Lanka Police under the sponsorship of FAIRFIRST, and the program is scheduled to be held for 10 days from today onwards for the school children in the areas that were identified as accident-prone areas in Galle.The keynote speaker, Sub Inspector of Police, Mr. Dayal Kariyawasam, and the demonstration team of Traffic Headquarters made the students aware through performing dramas and other various activities on how road accidents occur and how to protect themselves from road accidents.Further, this program is aimed at advising the students on how to carry out school traffic control activities, to prevent road accidents, which are increasing day by day, and to lead their lives while being cautious and mindful. With the main objective of eradicating narcotics from schools, a three-day Leadership Training Workshop for 88 school prefects was held at Topawewa National College, Polonnaruwa, from 28.10.2024. On 30.10.2024 under the guidance of Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr. Sajeewa Medawatta and under the leadership of Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Police Cadet Range – Mr. S. M. Y Senevirathne and Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr. Chinthaka Gunarathna – Director of Police Cadet Division.This workshop consisted of various lectures by police cadet instructors. The program consisted of various lectures and activities on leadership training, physical exercises, lectures on prevention of narcotics, knowledge on giving first aid, table manners and road rules. For the entertainment of the students, a musical performance was held and a bonfire marked the end of this program.To carry out this program successfully, it received the cooperation of the Deputy Principal of Topawewa National College, Polonnaruwa, its teachers, Officer in Charge of Boralanda Police Cadet Training Center and many other officers. රථවාහන පාලනය හා මාර්ග ආරක්ෂාව භාර නියෝජ්‍ය පොලිස්පති ඉන්දික හපුගොඩ මහතාගේ නායකත්වය සහ අධීක්ෂණය යටතේ සමස්ථ දිවයිනම ආවරණය වන පරිදි පැවැත්වීමට සැලසුම්කර ඇති මාර්ග ආරක්ෂාව පිළිබඳව පාසල් දරු දැරියන් දැනුවත් කිරීමේ අතිශය කාලෝචිත වැඩසටහන කොළඹ රථවාහන මූලස්ථානය විසින් 2024.09.13 වන ඊයේ දින පවත්වන ලද්දේ ගලහිටියාව මධ්‍යම මහා විද්‍යාලයේ සිසු සිසුවියන් වෙනුවෙනි. ප්‍රායෝගික ක්‍රියාකාරකම්ද ඇසුරින් රථවාහන හැසිරවීමේ දැනුම මෙන්ම ආරක්ෂාවීමේ මාර්ග නීති පිළිබද දැනුම විද්‍යාලයේ ප්‍රධාන දේශන ශාලාවට එක්රැස් වූ පාසලේ රිය නියාමක සිසුන් ප්‍රධානව සිසු සිසුවියන් 500 දෙනෙකු සඳහා නොයෙක් ඉගැන්වීම් විධික්‍රම භාවිතා කරමින් ආකර්ශනීයව ලබාදීමට කොළඹ රථවාහන මූලස්ථානයේ ප්‍රවීණ දේශක උප පොලිස් පරීක්ෂක දයාල් කාරියවසම් මහතා එහිදී කටයුතු කර ඇත. මෙම වැඩසටහන සඳහාද ෆෙයාර්ෆස්ට් ඉන්ෂුවරන්ස් (Fairfirst Insurance) පුද්ගලික ආයතනය සාදර අනුග්‍රහය ලබාදී ඇති අතර, ඒ් යටතේ මෙවරත් දේශනයේදී රථවාහන පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් යොමුකළ ප්‍රශ්න සදහා නිවැරදි පිළිතුරු ලබාදුන් පාසල් සිසු සිසුවියන් වෙත රථවාහන මූලස්ථානයේ නිලධාරීන් වටිනා ත්‍යාග ප්‍රධානය කර තිබේ.

තම ගැටළු සදහා ප්‍රාදේශීය පොලිස් ස්ථාන මගින් ලබාදුන් විසඳුම් පිළිබඳව සෑහීමකට පත් නොවූවන් සහ විසදූම් ලැබීමට ප්‍රමාදවූවන් එම ගැටළු පිළිබඳව පොලිස්පතිතුමා වෙත සහ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් වෙත සෘජුව පැවසීම සඳහා පොලිස් මූලස්ථානය වෙත අද දිනයේද (18) ඒකරාශී විය.රජයේ නිවාඩු දින හැර සෑම සිකුරාදා දිනකම පෙරවරු 9.00 සිට පස්වරු 2.00 දක්වා මහජන සහන දිනය පැවැත්වෙන අතර අද දිනයේ ද වැඩබලන පොලිස්පති ප්‍රියන්ත වීරසුරිය මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් සාර්ථකව නිමාකරන ලදී. ඔබේ ගැටළුවට නිසි විසදුම් ලබා දීමට සහ පැමිණිලි ලිඛිතව සටහන් කරගෙන අදාළ අංශ වෙත කඩිනමින් යොමුකිරීම සඳහා මීලඟ සිකුරාදා දිනයේත් වැඩබලන පොලිස්පතිතුමා සහභාගීත්වයෙන් පැවැත්වෙනු ඇත.

සමාජ මාධ්‍ය තුල දරුවන් ආරක්ෂා විය යුත්තේ කෙසේද? නිවැරදි සන්නිවේදනය සහ නිවැරදි සමාජ මාධ්‍ය භාවිතය පිළිබඳ පාසල් දරුවන් දැනුවත් කිරීම වෙනුවෙන් පවත්වනු ලබන තවත් එක් වැඩමුළුවක්, නිට්ටඹුව “Curfew Boys Youth Club” සංගමයේ ආරාධනයෙන් පොලිස් මාධ්‍ය කොට්ඨාසය මඟින් 2024.10.16 දින මීගමුව දකුණ ජාත්‍යන්තර පාසල නිට්ටඹුව ශාඛාවේදී දවස පුරා පවත්වන ලදී. මෙම වැඩමුළුවේදී සයිබර් අපරාධ වලින් ආරක්ෂා වීම, සාර්ථක සන්නිවේදනය, වෙබ් පුවත්,ලිපි සැකසීම/ සාරාංශ කිරීම, කැමරාකරණය සහ වීඩියෝකරණය, ඡායාරූප සංස්කරණය සහ වීඩියෝ සංස්කරණය, ඩ්‍රෝන තාක්ෂණය මෙන්ම නව මාධ්‍ය භාවිතයන් පිළිබඳ පාසල් සිසුන් දැනුවත් කිරීම සහ ප්‍රායෝගික අද්දැකීම් ලබා දීම සිදු විය. මේ සඳහා මීගමුව දකුණ ජාත්‍යන්තර පාසල නිට්ටඹුව ශාඛාව සිසු දරුවන් ඇතුළුව ආරාධිත පාසල් ලෙස, මීගමුව දකුණ ජාත්‍යන්තර පාසල මීගමුව ශාඛාව, නිට්ටඹුව රෝමානුකතෝලික විද්‍යාලය, නිට්ටඹුව බෞද්ධ විද්‍යාලය, වේයන්ගොඩ බණ්ඩාරනායක විද්‍යාලය, ඌරාපොළ මධ්‍යමහා විද්‍යාලය සහ උඩුගහවල්පොළ විද්‍යාලය යන විද්‍යාල 8 හි මාධ්‍ය ඒකක වල සිදු දරු දැරියන් 150 ක් සහ ගුරු භවතුන් සහභාගී විය.

“සෙනෙහසේ දෑත් දිගු කර රකිමු වැඩිහිටි ළමා පරපුර” යන තේමාව පෙරදැරිකර සමස්ථ ලෝකයම අන්තර්ජාතික ලෝක ළමා දිනය හා වැඩිහිටි දිනය සමරනු ලැබූ 2024.10.01 වන අද දින, ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොලිස් ළමා හා කාන්තා අපයෝජන නිවාරන කාර්යංශය අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍යංශය හා ඒකාබද්ධව සංවිධානය කළ දේශන හා සන්දර්ශන මාලාවක් “දරුවන් රැකගමු සමසේ සලකමු” ළමා දින තේමාව යටතේ මානෙල් වත්ත නාගනන්ද ජාත්‍යන්තර බෞද්ධ අධ්‍යයන ආයතනයේ දී 2024.10.01 වන අද දින උදෑසන පැවැත්වුනි. වැඩසටහන සඳහා ප්‍රධාන අමුත්තා ලෙස සහභාගී වූයේ ගරු අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය හා අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍ය ආචාර්ය හරිනි අමරසූරිය මැතිනියයි. වැඩසටහන සඳහා කැළණිය අධ්‍යාපන කොට්ඨාසයේ පාසල් 10 ක ශිෂ්‍ය ශිෂ්‍යාවන් 1000 ක් පමණ සහභාගී වූ අතර එම දරු දැරියන් උදෙසා හරවත් දේශනයන්ට අමතරව වැඩසටහන සඳහා එක්වූ පොලිස් සංස්කෘතික කොට්ඨාසය, පොලිස් තූර්යවාදක කොට්ඨාස සහ පොලිස් සුනඛ කොට්ඨාසය නැටුම් ගැයුම් හා සංදර්ශන රසවිදීමේ අවස්ථාව උදාකරන ලදී. අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය තුමිය සමඟ මෙම අවස්ථාව සඳහා අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍යංශයේ ලේකම් තිලකා ජයසුන්දර මැතිනිය, බස්නාහිර පළාත් උතුර කොට්ඨාස භාර නියෝජ්‍ය පොලිස්පති කපිල කඩුපිටිය මහතා, ළමා හා කාන්තා අපයෝජන දිසාව භාර නියෝජ්‍ය පොලිස්පති රේණුකා ජයසුන්දර මහත්මිය, ළමා හා කාන්තා කාර්යංශයේ අධ්‍යක්ෂ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ පොලිස් අධිකාරී ලලිත් අබේසේකර මහතා ඇතුළුව ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ නිලධාරීන් රැසක් සහභාගී විය.
