Dear Sir -
I wish to place on record my appreciation to the Sri Lanka Police. I made a complaint through the Tell IGP section of the Police website regarding a hit and run incident at Wellawatte. This was efficiently and successfully resolved by the Police Service. I also must place on record my thanks to IP H.G.S.P.K. Chandrasiri - PA to Colombo South Division and to SI Beddewithana - OIC Traffic Wellwatte Police. These two gentlemen took efficient and effective steps to investigate and resolve my complaint. Once again please accept my sincere gratitude to the Sri Lanka Police Department.

| Dear Sir, I highly appreciate this service of Tell IGP which enable us to communicate essential information, appreciations and problems to you directly.I am writing to you, because I am very happy about the Good Service given to me by the Marawila Police Station on 16th February 2012, when I went there to complain about a Coconut Robbery in our Estate. Our estate watcher and I went to the station at about 10am and were directed to meet Sagt. Pothuwila. He was very friendly, and carefully identified that the watcher eye witnessed the thief plucking coconuts. He quickly created an entry with all details and directed us to Inspector Piyasiri. I noted that Sagt. Pothuwila and Inspector Piyasiri did not waste time in taking action. Within 3 hours (at about 1 pm), Inspector Piyasiri and another assistant had caught the suspect and informed him to come to police. He also updated me by phone about the progress. The problem was completely solved on the following day. I believe, this level of service by our police is great and needs appreciating. Thank you, Sir, for uplifting the police to this standard. | Dear Sir, With reference to my complain, I hereby send my great appreciation for your quick intervention. I was informed that Crime OI/C Gampaha visited my place for further inquiry. As you know been serving in the military for 22years I have contribution my best to the country with total dedication and now only going to take care of family and other thing. That is the reason I have come to the Gulf for earn some money. But it seems that protecting family and properties is difficult than earning. Even we have managed to overcome terrorism in our country still Sri lanka is in the dangerous zone as per the international crime reports. Today’s world millions of low abiding people searching for peaceful country to be retired and they will spend any amount of money for that. Since our country is gifted by natural beauty and other basic things we can make this land the most popular place for such a people. But we have to minimize our crime rate since this is the main factor they always considered. I don’t want to waste your precious time and once again thank you for the valuable service rendering to the nation. Why not Sir; I am fully satisfied with the prompt action taken by the branch especially a Police Constable who took the trouble to trace the papers in my presence. In fact thought of sending my thanks and greetings but later had second thoughts that might disturb yourself Sir; Kindly accept my belated thank. IGP Sir, A big bouquet for you, your DIGs and the Coordinating Officers and the staff down to OIC Mulleriyawa Police Station for the prompt action taken on my submission.
The man in question was reprimanded and he undertook not to disturb me or my family hereafter. I as a person ready to forgive and forget demonstrated my magnanimity in accepting his apologies and even went to the extent of making friends with the man today at the station.
I'm short of words to thank you and your staff so much so I shall write to the national press in both Sinhala and English to convince the masses that your new approach using the web technology really works in nipping criminal tendencies like this in their buds.
It's in deed a first class service and I and my family are ever so grateful to you and the police for it. One request in conclusion ! If the the local politicians are persuaded to simply discourage the criminal elements coming to them to influence the police, your system would yield excellent results much to the relief and satisfaction of the general public.

I wish to inform you that the OIC Wellampitiya arrested the Drug addict Sunil on 6th November 2010 at about 10.00PM . and informed me that he arrested Sunil on the way to the Wellampitiya Police station. I went to the police station immediately and identified Sunil.
I thank him for taking a personal interest to arrest Sunil ( the drug addict ) who was a real problem for the people at Kolonnawa area.
I also thank you for taking action to arrest the culprits who have become a real problem to the Kolonnawa area.

Dear Sir,
I would be very much grateful specially to you and to the Galle Police station for promptly taking action to trace my phones. I wanted to know the theft who took my phones and how? the police constable received the phones. This is because I should be protected from future similar incidents.
I have been informed by SP-Galle-I to meet him on 8th Morning at the police station. As, I am working in the Head Office of the National Water Supply & Drainage Board as an Assistant General Manager it is very difficult take a leave for this purpose.
Is it possible for me to meet him on Saturday, 6th instead?. Is it possible to find the other phone too?. I am very much satisfied with "Tell IGP" service.

Thank you very much for the reply and the quick action you have taken regarding this. (Tell IGP Reference No:122/2010)
I am happy to wait till the 31st of this December to let them vacate the property. I am not going for a court case, because I do not want to put my innocent parents in a more difficult situation after going through all of these. However, this person is still continuing his unacceptable behaviour and has started to fight with neighbours of the property.
I am so grateful if you could advice Habaraduwa police to follow up this case after the 31st of December, because we are not in a position to communicate with this person.
Sir, I should say that your ‘Tell IGP’ service is remarkable and I owe you so much for your time and attention given to help me and my family. It really changed my perception about the Sri Lankan police and I really couldn’t believe we have got so much support from the police so far. Thank you so very much for your effort up to now and will let you know how things go after the 31st of December.

Congratulations for having appointed the 33rd Inspector General of Police of Sri Lanka. I wish you well for the period you be in-charge of the police and thereafter!
I am writing to offer my heartfelt gratitude to you and your team for the actions taken on my complaint to the IGP. The police has handled the situation efficiently and honorably. The gentleman who visited me to interview me was police constable Mr Pushpakumara (37135). I am pleased to say that Mr Pushpakumara conducted the interview well and his approach was professional.
I felt the action taken to sort out the matter was appropriate.
Mr Pushpakumara's highly respected mannerisms managed to change my preconceived notion (rather negative) about police officers in general. I believe my recommendation would benefit this gentleman's career prospects and he be informed about this positive feedback.
I do take this opportunity to appreciate the outgoing IGP, Dr Mahinda Balasuriya, for his assistance in this regard.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
I am really amazed at your prompt response to my request. Our country needs many more public officials as efficient as you are. You are a perfect role model for the public officials. In fact when I emailed to you I never expected to a response, In the past, I have tried contacting public official in Sri Lanka several times through email. Once it was to provide a scholarship to a needy student (Until he/she enters to university) who had performed well in the 5 th grade scholarship exam. Then there was an instant where I was trying provide some free advice for a dept. that was responsible for water resources. Then recently I tried to contact the sri lankan airlines to inquire about a new route they were to planning fly. Unfortunately until today I never heard back from them.
I am more than happy to copy this email to any of your superiors if you want me to do so. I hope you keep serving our country for many years to come. I am quite confident that under your leadership the Police department will turn into one of the best administered, efficient, up to date public department. It will be a perfect example for the other govt. institutes as well.
